We all use a bunch of antibiotics, and it is even one of the most dispensed drugs at any pharmacy, but did you ever wonder whether you are using them correctly or not?
Studies show that the miss usage of antibiotics cloud lower their effectiveness, that means that bacteria are likely to develop resistance to them that much sooner. WHO “World Health Organisation” warns of “devastating” consequences and says once-beaten diseases could re-emerge!
We got your back and here is your manual for antibiotics usage:
Antibiotics are not a magical solution for everything!
Antibiotics are very effective and potent, but they cannot treat all kinds of diseases, for example they cannot kill viruses, as it only can handle bacterial infections.
You cannot use antibiotics for diseases prevention!
Using unnecessary antibiotics won’t help you heal or prevent infections, on the contrary, taking them will reduce their effectiveness on the long run, and they may be accompanied with many side effects.
You cannot use antibiotics that were prescribed to other people!
Drugs that can suit you, not necessarily suit other persons. If you used a wrong type of antibiotics, this can slow and affect your treatment plan, and could even make your case worsen.
You cannot stop using antibiotics once you feel better!
You have to use antibiotics as indicated by your doctor, and you have to finish the whole course. If you stopped them, it is a possibility that some of the bacteria is still alive, and that can get you ill again.
Always inform a doctor about other medications you are taking!
You always have to check with a doctor before you take any drug while you are on an antibiotic. As any of them can affect the effectiveness of the other, or even worse, as they can create negative side-effects!
When you get a sore throat, you should use antibiotics, under the supervision of a doctor of course!
Many sore throat cases happen because of bacteria, and you get prescribed antibiotic to prevent them from spreading, as they can reach other internal organs and you will be suffering from other symptoms such as fever.
Great to find someone at last who thinks like me 🙂
